Hi :) Hope you are having a great week so far. Can you believe it is almost March?? I sure cant. Especially since we just got a huge snow storm yesterday, uugghh! So tired of it. But the kids did get a snow day and Dave had the day off, so that has been nice.
The snow has not stopped me from decorating inside my home for spring. I have taken a couple ideas from my Fairytale Easter book and made them my own.
I am loving eggs so much this season! Fairytale Easter is just full of beautiful eggs. I wanted to try embellishing some of my own. So I bought 24 paper mache eggs. They are the size of regular chicken eggs. I painted them all white.
Another obsession of mine this season is vintage wire egg baskets!! I placed the embellished eggs in this one in my sitting room.
This egg basket is my favorite of the two I have. I really like it hanging up :)
I bought these pretty Jeanne d' Arc napkins and decoupaged some of the eggs with pieces of the napkins.
I love the result!! I put these eggs in an apothecary jar behind the sink in my kitchen.
In my other round egg basket, I added a little pot of pretty yellow daffodil's. Nothing says spring like yellow :) I put some hay around the pot. It looks very farmhouse/natural/rustic :) Just the look I wanted. I should have waited a couple of day to take these pics because the flowers really perked up and now stand nice and straight. But I didn't know when the sun would shine next! It is a good thing I took them when I did because it has been grey and dark since!
I put this behind my sink with the apothecary jar of eggs and a vintage siphon I found about a month or so ago. Love it!!!
I'm very happy with this and look forward to adding more flowers and colors throughout the season.
I left a few of the eggs plain white to use in other displays. This one, I tied some twine around and a few little sprigs of dried lavender. I had a tiny nest and put it in some old tart tins and placed the egg inside. Pretty small nest for this big egg, lol. But I think it looks cute!
I have a couple tiny little crafts yet to finish for spring that I will show later. I always feel like doing so many projects and things around the house in spring! I am just itching to get some things done around here! The end of this month, I am going to be repainting the floor in the sitting room. It desperately needs it. Their are lots of marks on it from little cars being ran across it etc. . This time, I am going to do it differently. It will take me about 4 days to get it done so I am waiting till Dave is on vacation. I am ready to have that job out of the way. I am also getting a new love seat to go in there. I have many other projects I want to do around here too. Mostly planting flowers and working outside. We really need to redo the downstairs bathroom. Basically a gut job :( That is a project I am not looking forward to, lol. Do you have any spring projects planned?
Thank you so much for visiting me today! Have a wonderful weekend :)
