Hello! Welcome to my "new" blog! I figured, since I have changed the name of my blog, I needed to change my blog's URL too! Bunny Rose Cottage is a part of my past. A very good part. I had so many wonderful memories in that home and in that part of my life. But my life has changed, a lot. And it is time to change my blog address too, not just the name :) Thank you so much for finding me here. I hope you will continue to follow my journey, here on this blog. I love all of my followers and I don't wamt tp lose any of you :) I merged all of the posts from my other blog to this one, so it is basically the same blog but with a different web address :) Love to you all and again, thank you!!

Valentine's Day Decor and a Giveaway Winner...

Hi there! Hope you all had a great weekend. Ours was spent just hanging out at home, other than getting groceries, lol. The weather here has been so cold. We were hit with lots of freezing rain last night. None of the kids had school today. I was happy for that and of course, so were they, lol. It really warmed up this afternoon and now, everything has melted! This winter seems like it is going by soooo slow!! Ugghh, I cannot wait for spring!!! It is all I can think about at this point. I cant believe it isn't even February yet!! I have had some wonderful inspiration for spring though and cant wait to show you in another post :)

I spent some time last week crafting a bit for Valentine's Day. I used the Jeanne d Arc wrapping paper for each piece.

I cant resist white roses :)

I took a plain ol' salt shaker and decided to turn it into a little bud vase. Just a little of the paper and some white lace and I love the result! I put some lavender in it which is the perfect size :) I have been hooked on lavender and white lately. The combination is so fresh and spring like.

I basically just put some Valentine items on this table in the sitting room and a little in the kitchen. I didn't want to go overboard with hearts and candy etc. Just subtle colors and romance. I don't like the color red at all and pink seems so juvenile. I went with soft grey and white.

I took some plain glass bottles that we had leftover and decided to embellish them a little and make "love messages in a bottle". They are so cute for Valentine's Day. Nothing is sweeter than a love note :)

I cut out little hearts for two of them and wrapped some of the paper around the other one.  I put some twine and buttons on them.  I tied a crochet heart on one of them.  Then just rolled some of the pretty wrapping paper and stuck them in the bottles!  Easy and cute :)

I love gift bags and making little gifts for people!!  I have said before how much I love these little brown penny candy paper bags.Valentine's is the perfect time for little gifts.  I just cut a little heart out of the paper and glued it on, added a simple pearl, some twine and lavender.

I just love these for wedding favor bags or garden party bags!  How cute to make these and fill with flower seed packets and some candy or whatever else fits your party theme.  I am definitely doing these for future gatherings!

I bought three Russell Stover chocolate bars at the supermarket.  I started thinking, wouldn't these be cute all embellished up??  So of course, I covered them in the wrapping paper :)  And added vintage millinery, seam binding, tags etc to each one.  This one has soft pink seam binding,  aqua vintage millinery flowers and a clay tag that says love.

For this one, I used twine and sepia velvet millinery.  The other chocolate bar is under this one, tied together.

Into the cute little bag it goes :)  Nothing like making a simple chocolate bar look pretty :)

I bought this pretty little heart sachet from Evelyn and Rose.  Love her shoppe!  It is white linen with vintage grey trim.  Filled with lavender and smells so good!

It sits in the prettiest old heart shaped dish.  This dish stays out all year, it is one of my favorite things!
I repurposed a spaghetti-o's can into a little vase :)  More of the wrapping paper and some twine.  So perfect for these roses.
I also made this adorable little garland using little white crochet hearts and twine.  Simple but so pretty.  This will be all of my Valentine decor this year.  I forgot to take pictures of my little display in the kitchen.  I will show it in my next post.  Now, I want to start concentrating on spring!  Dave and I were so happy to see grilling and gardening supplies in the stores!!!  Soo much better than seeing snow shovels and snow blowers, lol.  I need to keep my mind busy with spring crafts to hopefully pass the time quicker.  Sunday is my youngest son, Gibson's birthday.  I cannot believe he is going to be eight years old already!!!!!  It seems like just yesterday, he was born.  Makes me so sad.  He has always been a mama's boy :)  He asked for my loaded nachos and chocolate cake for his birthday :)  They just grow too fast, don't they?

  3. Yes, Amy, they do grow very, very fast! Your whites are so pretty--those roses are amazing. Who could imagine that your vase is actually a spaghetti-o's can? Linda
