Hello :) Hope this finds you well and having a wonderful week! The winter blues always hit me January and February. This year is no exception. And of course it has me longing for my favorite season, spring! Dave brought me home some Cadbury mini eggs and that helped a little :) And a few spring items are popping up here and there in the stores. But we still have a loooong way to go. So. I am putting some spring in my home to help get through these long months. Now that my Christmas things are put away and I have my house back, I have decluttered a bit. Starting with the desk in my sitting room. It had been bothering me for awhile actually. I took everything off and then put only the things I truly love on it.
Much better!
My favorite bunnies, painted by Rebecca of A Gathering Place. They make me feel so happy when I see them :) And I put a mason jar with some lavender my son and step daughter picked for me.
Here I have things that have meaning to me. Also my garden fence box that I had to keep out. A picture of my mom when she was a baby :) And the figurine of a lady walking her dogs that is from my grandma. When I was little, I loved it so much. So a couple of years ago, she gave it to me :)
I went through my books and magazines and put my favorites (right now, lol) in here. I like to sit in here and read them where it is quiet.
I had to change out what is inside my birdcage after putting the Christmas items in it away. For now, I have a garden fairy that I love sitting inside :) Savannah loves this birdcage and always likes to see what is inside.
She wanted to get the fairy out and keep it, lol. She looks at it all the time. I taught her to say fairy :)
Well, that is it for this week. I am getting ready to decorate for Valentine's soon as well. Dave and my anniversary is two days later, which makes it even more romantic for us :) I love hearts :)
Thank you so much for visiting me today! Xo, Amy

So many of us deal with the blues in January and February and I love how you are embracing it. I have been purging here also big time. I have gone to very simple in my way of life and have chosen to bless others with the things I no longer want. Having two sons starting out on there new life of being married over the holidays and one having a new baby they were blessed with things from momma. They asked if they could have what I didn't want and I was happy to share. I love that my dil's have the same taste in decorating.
ReplyDeleteValentine's is so special for me also as it is my birthday the very next day and the day after that is my grandsons birthday so we always celebrate big for that holiday.
Hope you have a blessed and safe weekend and stay warm. We are still waiting for our first snowfall of the season, not one snowfall to date and that makes it even sadder for me.
Savannah is getting so big! I think she needs her own little fairy! :)
ReplyDeleteI agree--it is nice to put Christmas away--and basically just hop right into spring :)
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone!
ReplyDeleteHolly, Savannah actually has a whole bunch of fairies, including a boys frog fairy, lol. For some reason, she is obsessed with that birdcage and what is inside of it! Too cute!
We've just had some snow after some very mild spring like weather. Roll on spring I say, can we have the mild weather back?
